Ryan Martin is an Independent Australian Surf-Rock Musician. The skilled musician uses a combination of a guitar, percussion, harmonica and vocals to create a soulful and energetic sound. 

 

Unmoved by music until he was introduced to the sounds of Jack Johnson, when the world of music suddenly opened up. Picking up the guitar and practising tirelessly until he could mimic his newfound idol. When he eventually met Jack Johnson in 2003 at the Byron Bay Bluesfest, it fueled his determination to be a musician. He began playing performing in public in 2009 and has since played at countless venues around NSW. Ryan has shared the stage with nationally touring acts; The Angels, GANGgajang, Wendy Matthews, Thirsty Merc and Juzzie Smith. 

 

Ryan regularly performs his original songs with a mix of popular cover songs around the North Coast, NSW. Ryan covers a huge range of songs from multiple genres, from Folk to R&B.

 

In solo shows, Ryan utilises a loop pedal to record sounds live and layer them on top of each other to showcase his musical ability.  

 

In Duo shows, Ryan is accompanied by a percussionist either on a cajon or a full drum kit depending on venue requirements. 

 

In Trio shows, a bass guitarist is added to the line up which packs even more into the rhythm section by delivering a groovy bass line so you can feel the funk! 

 

In the Four piece band, a versatile lead guitarist is thrown into the mix, adding in flavoursome lead breaks and licks. 

 

Privileged to work with some very talented Clarence Valley Musicians, the four-piece show is a sound you can't help but groove along to.

 

Ryan has had three single releases; "Home", "Arabella" and "Messed up & wild", available on all major streaming platforms. He is currently working on a full length original album due to be released in 2020.
